BIOCHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND
(B.O.D.)
- Biochemical Oxygen Demand is an empirical test used to determine the relative oxygen requirements of waste waters, polluted waters, and other types of outflows.
- The B.O.D. test works by measuring the molecular oxygen utilized for the biochemical degradation of organic material used to oxidize inorganic material such as sulfides and ferrous iron.
- After the determination of B.O.D., the same test can be used to monitor the B.O.D. removal efficacy of certain treatments as well.
- BTS is expanding our services to include B.O.D. testing. Please contact us to inquire about this new service from BTS.
